Partner Emeritus
Daniel J. McCabe has been an attorney for more than 38 years with a general practice of law serving primarily the legal interests of families and small businesses. Dan has a special emphasis on representation for business, matrimonial and real estate cases.
Dan’s legal practice has always been coupled with a pursuit of private business interests along with writing and teaching of business principles. The business-related experiences he has pursued over his career involve many aspects of real estate development including several historic building renovations, the creation and operation of “Officestar” an Executive suites rental business, development of an executive residential subdivision, and other small real estate ventures. He has co-developed several general business pursuits.
Since 1987, Dan has been the President and co-founder of McColla Enterprises, Ltd., a Kansas-based company that is now a national franchisor of over 40 mini-convenience stores located in multiple states. He is a co-developer of the Hyde Park Antiques Center and he has also served as an adjunct lecturer in business law and real estate at local colleges.
Dan is also a founder of the Collaborative Divorce movement in the Hudson Valley. He is a divorce mediator and collaborative law attorney and he has extensive experience in representing high net worth clients in reasoned collaborative matrimonial solutions.
A graduate of Williams College and Georgetown Law School, Dan is a fourth generation resident of Poughkeepsie. He is active in this community serving as past Vice-Chairman of the Dutchess County Water & Wastewater Authority, Vice Chairman of the City of Poughkeepsie Planning Board and past President of the Dutchess County Bar Association.
He is married and the father of three children.
